Nose surgeries are frequently requested by patients with nasal deformities, and like all over the world, they are also among the most common aesthetic surgeries in our country.
Breathing problems in the nose, if any, are also corrected in modern Rhinoplasty surgeries. These surgeries, called Functional Rhinoplasty, increase the quality of life of patients as well as their appearance.

Preoperative
The nose job is a personalized surgery. The techniques and approaches are selected according to the problems in the nose It is also very important to shape the nose according to the patient’s wishes and needs. As a result, a natural and beautiful nose shape suitable for the facial proportions is aimed.
Preoperative preparation begins with a detailed physical examination and a patient-physician consultation. The patient’s complaints and the desired nose shape are listened to by Dr. Andaç Aykan and noted. In the intranasal examination, if any, concha hypertrophy and septum curvature are detected. Correction of these problems provides a visually good and functionally healthy nose.
During the consultation with the patients who are candidates for Rhinoplasty, sometimes the nose shapes and pictures that the patient likes are also examined by Dr. Andaç Aykan. However, it should not be forgotten that a nose shape that looks beautiful on another face does not create the same harmony and beauty in a different person. Operation
Rhinoplasty surgery is performed under general anesthesia and lasts an average of 2 to 3 hours. Generally, no tampons are used inside the nose. In cases with a significant curvature and nasal concha expansion in the nose, these problems are treated in the same session. Short-term perforated tampon application may be performed in such cases. Associate Professor Andaç Aykan uses Piezo (Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty) and Micro-motor Rhinoplasty technologies to increase surgical success and shorten recovery.
Piezo and Micromotor Rhinoplasty
Traditional methods like bone breaking and rasping have been successfully used in plastic surgery for years. However, as technology advances, modern devices are being developed to minimize or eliminate postoperative edema, swelling, and bruising for patients.
Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty (Piezo Rhinoplasty), also known as Piezo, and Micro-motor Rhinoplasty technologies are at the forefront of these methods.
One of these methods is Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty, also known as Piezo Rhinoplasty, which utilizes the vibrations of ultrasonic sound waves to cut or shape bones.
Another method is Micro-motor Rhinoplasty, where sensitive vibrations created at a micro level allow bone shaping.
Both techniques enable the shaping of nasal structures without causing damage to surrounding tissues. After the Surgery
There is no significant pain after the surgery. Patients can eat about 2-3 hours after being taken to their rooms. Generally, the tampon is not used in the nose. In cases with a significant curvature and nasal concha expansion in the nose, these problems are treated in the same session. Short-term perforated silicone tampon application may be performed in such cases.
Perforated silicone tampons are quite small and easy to remove. The biggest advantage is that it allows you to breathe comfortably when waking up from anesthesia. Perforated silicone tampons are removed on the 5th-7th days after the surgery.
At the end of the surgery, a plastic splint is placed on the nose. The splint provides the protection against the external factors and supports the healing process. The splint is kept in the patient’s nose area for an average of 5-7 days. At the end of this period, the nasal splint is removed. The removal of the splint is a completely painless and very short procedure.
Patients can return to their normal social lives approximately 3-5 days after the operation and return to work 7 days later. In addition, it takes months for the nasal edema to completely disappear and the nose to take its final shape.
