Subcision
What is Subcision?
The subcision treatment is a type of surgical treatment used for the treatment of pit-like scars (epulosis) formed on the skin after acnes (pimples) that occur during the puberty, especially in the face area. In this method, the bottom of the scar tissue in the form of pits is released-opened with specially designed cutting needle tips.
What are the Procedures That Can Be Combined With Subcision Treatment?
Often, the Adipose Injection and Stem Cell treatment are performed in the same session to increase the effectiveness of subcision treatment and to achieve a more perfect result. Thinned adipose (micro-adipose graft or nano-adipose graft) is applied in order to prevent acne pits whose base has been liberated by subcision to return to their old appearance. The Stem Cell treatment is added to contribute to the regeneration of the skin in the treated areas.
For Which Scars Is Subcision Treatment Suitable?
The subcision treatment is often preferred in the face area for the treatment of acne scars. Besides;
- It can also be used for acne scars
- Chickenpox scars
- Scars from injury or surgery
- Deep wrinkles.
Who Is Not Eligible For Subcision?
The subcisions cannot be made in people who have active skin infection or are susceptible to abnormal skin scars such as hypertrophic and keloid scar scars.
Is Subcision A Painful Procedure?
The treatment is performed under the local or general anesthesia. After the procedure, it is expected that the redness and swelling will continue for 2-3 days. The pain is minimal after the procedure. Bruising can occur after the procedure, and recovery will occur within 7-10 days, depending on your skin type.
